Neo Mohlatlole from 7 Colors
will be the MC in Johannesburg

Neo Mohlatlole is the founder and co-owner of 7colors communications. A marketing agency that implements through PR, Events and Exhibitions, the company organizes the annual Stokvelex expo across the country. Mohlatlole is also the only recipient of the UFI Next Generation leader on the continent. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Event Greening Forum.

Catherine Morris from GREEN HOME
will speak on ‘Procurement’ in Cape Town
Since starting GREEN HOME 11 years ago, Catherine Morris’s mission has been to make plant based food packaging the norm and eradicating the need for single use plastics.
Being the first and only fully compostable food packaging company in South Africa, GREEN HOME has grown from strength to strength and now employs over 30 people and distributes throughout South Africa as well as into Africa.

Grace Stead from Steadfast Greening
will speak on ‘Measuring the impact of an event’ in Cape Town

The balance between people and the environment has always been a driving force for Grace in her professional career.  Trained as a town planner, she spent twelve years working for local government, during which time she gained exposure at grassroots level in the townships, as well as international level.  While co-ordinating the Cape Town Aachen partnership for sustainability, she gained experience in project management, business development, training and facilitation to ensure implementation in a practical and professional manner.
She established Steadfast Greening in 2007, which expanded as the need for awareness around sustainability grew.  The focus of the business has been on promoting sustainability and providing support to green teams around resource management, cleaner production and event greening supported by training and resource development.
Grace also co-founded the Event Greening Forum with Justin Hawes.

Greg McManus from Heritage Environmental Management Company 
will speak on ‘Measuring the impact of an event’ in Durban and Joburg, and ‘Procurement’ in Durban
Greg McManus has been in the hospitality industry for almost forty years – both operationally and then in the standards and audit aspects of quality and sustainability. He is the owner of Heritage, South Africa’s only independent sustainability certification company, and is actively involved in environmental certification and the development of standards and quality management systems in tourism.
He is currently Chairman of the non-profit organisation the Event Greening Forum, and was directly involved in developing its Sustainable Event Standards.

Justin Hawes from Scan Display
will speak on ‘Greening your expo stand’ in all 3 cities
Justin Hawes is a Chartered Accountant with a BCom, BAcc and HDip Tax from the University of the Witwatersrand. He has been Managing Director of exhibition, events and retail display company, Scan Display Solutions (Pty) Ltd, since its formation in 1996.
Justin’s passion for sustainability was sparked during the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002. Recognising the need for an independent body to drive sustainability in the South African events industry, Justin and Grace Stead established the Event Greening Forum in 2009.

Lutske Newton from City of Tshwane
will speak on ‘Procurement’ in Johannesburg
Lutske Newton is Director: Adaptation and Resilience in the City Sustainability Unit in the Office of the Executive Mayor. She has worked for the City of Tshwane for four years, enjoying wide exposure to a range of sustainability issues and loves the challenge of how to strengthen the uptake of sustainability thinking and practice in the City.
Her work straddles the development of demonstration projects (proof of concept), policy oriented work such as the preparation of the City’s Climate Response Strategy, training of officials and councillors on sustainable development and climate change as well communication and advocacy with an array of stakeholders.
Before joining the City, she worked as a consultant focusing mainly on sustainability-oriented public sector consulting.
She has a Masters Degree in Development Studies from the University of Natal.

Mike Lysko from Flock Eventing Platform
will speak about Meetings Africa 2019 app & conduct a survey in all 3 cities

Mike is an experienced Director with a demonstrated history of working in the computer software industry. He is skilled in Business Planning, Customer Service, Sales, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Planning. He has a strong professional with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) focused in Business Management from Northwest University.

Morwesi Ramonyai from Borena Energy
will speak on ‘The EGF’s Green Database’ in Johannesburg

Morwesi is an impact entrepreneur with 6  years’ experience in the green economy focussing on renewable energy, with experience in carbon footprinting and eco-audits, and carbon off-setting through trading Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
She has a passion for advancing access-to-energy as a solution to the energy poverty problem. She has extensive experience in Renewable Energy as a developer of solar energy projects and solar solutions. She has developed and implemented commercial and rural rooftop solar energy projects that are both grid connected and off-grid, installed solar street lights in many dark communities and informal settlements, and innovated solar based solutions for child headed homes. She is the former Chief Commercial Officer of the Sun Exchange, an award winning Blockchain platform that provides specialist Solar Energy Funding. Through her social impact project called Watt-A-Woman, she aspires to realise the inclusion of women in the solar eco-system.
She is a member of the Event greening Forum’s (EGF) management committee for the last two years. In the greening sector she has become involved with greening and or auditing some notable events including the Meetings Africa, The Tourism Indaba and most recently the PAGE Inter-ministerial Conference 2019. In the tourism sector she is an accredited auditor for FairTrade Tourism and Travelife.
