EGF & SA Events Council webinar: Taking the leap into the wellbeing economy Recording (15 April 2021)

The Covid pandemic has made clear that there is no economic success without social wellbeing, which is founded on the health of people and ecosystems. When we imperil wellbeing, we demolish any economic activity, resulting in more poverty and destitution.

For over a decade, Professor Lorenzo Fioramonti has been advocating a new theory and practice called “wellbeing economy” to demonstrate the shortfalls of our obsession with economic growth and to place personal and ecological wellbeing at the centre of development policy for governments and business alike. In this talk, he discusses the many tangible examples of how the “wellbeing economy” is the only way forward to achieve a sustainable and equitable future, as well as happier and healthier lives.

Prof. Fioramonti is distinguished academic, Member of the Italian Parliament, and a passionate and inspiring speaker. You can read his full and impressive bio here: lorenzofioramonti.org

Thank you to our moderator Morwesi Ramonyai (vice chairperson of the EGF & director of Borena Energy) and speakers: Ellen Oosthuizen (chairperson of the SA Events Council & the PCO Alliance Network, and owner of Bebe‘s Events and Promotions); and Greg McManus (chairperson of the EGF & director of Heritage).
