Entries now open for the World Responsible Tourism Awards

It’s that time of year again when you can apply for the World Responsible Tourism Awards. Considering that you have all worked so hard to become a part of Africa’s Most Responsible Tourism Portfolio, we suggest that you apply so that you can be recognised for your efforts! The winners will be announced at WTM London from 5 – 7 November 2018.
The WTM World Responsible Tourism Awards are free to enter and are presented each year at WTM London, in front of an audience of 600 key influencers and decision makers. These awards are a centre piece of WTM Responsible Tourism Day – the biggest responsible tourism event globally.
Applications must be done by 6 August 2018. Click here to find out how to enter.
The awards are looking for practices and initiatives that will inspire others and that are replicable across the industry. Their ambition is to showcase great examples of Responsible Tourism in practice and to sue them to educate others, including consumers, about what can be achieved and to challenge others to do as well or better.
They recognise that achieving sustainability requires both innovation and the application of the best practices across the business or destination. They are also keen to see businesses which can report their initiatives and document their impact, both increasing positive economic, social and environmental impacts and by reducing negatives ones.
This year we had some great representation from the Fair Trade portfolio, let’s see if we can continue to improve next year!
